Thailand remains one of the most visited destinations on the planet. With plenty of islands, pristine beaches, amazing Thai food, and tons of water activities Thailand has a lot to offer.
Hence, when you are traveling to Thailand you need to focus on how you can make the most of the time and money you have.
While you are exploring Thailand you also need to focus on how you can hop from one island to another efficiently which allows you to enjoy your holidays without breaking your bank.
Here’s how you can island hop in Thailand while saving time and money.
Koh Samui
While many people start their island-hopping journey from Phuket, you can head directly to Bangkok and begin your journey from there.
You can take a domestic flight from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Koh Samui Airport and save a 14-hour journey which you can otherwise make using a direct bus service and a ferry ride.
Located on the eastern coast, Koh Samui has gained a lot of traction because of its legendary reputation for full moon parties. Also, you can find many gorgeous shots of the beaches here all over Instagram which makes this island such a hit with social influencers and party animals.
Koh Tao
Known as Diver’s Paradise, Koh Tao is where you can enjoy diving the most. Koh Tao is not as popular as Koh Samui and therefore you can find fewer crowds here.
You can always take a ferry from Koh Phangan to Koh Tao to hop efficiently from one island to another. Being one of the smaller islands you can also explore the local temples and markets while you are here.
Koh Phangan
A bit north of Koh Samui you can head to Koh Phangan via a ferry which is also quite popular for the full moon party.
However, even if you are not a party animal you can still make the most of this island by exploring the iconic forests, temples, and the legendary waterfalls.
If you are someone who loves adventure and hiking, Koh Phangan is the place where you can follow the hiking trails or snorkel up and dive into the crystal clear waters.
Krabi
With ample pristine beaches, temples, forests, and natural parks Krabi is the place where you find time to relax. This is also where you can enjoy water sports activities if you do not want to just lie and put your feet up.
You can try your hands on kayaking and other beach activities or you can enjoy some delicious Thai cuisine when you are done exploring the beaches.
Shopaholics can do some shopping while they are in Krabi.
Phi Phi Islands
With its incredible marine wildlife and gorgeous beach landscape, Phi Phi Islands is one of the stops that you have to make at least for a day. You can unwind and relax before you head to Krabi.
This is where Leonardo Di Caprio’s movie, The Beach was shot and this small island is either good for partying or to enjoy romantic moments with your partner.
Phuket
The best way to end your holidays in Thailand is by traveling to Phuket. This island remains one of the most visited destinations not only in Thailand but also across the globe.
While you are in Phuket you can explore the Old Town and Karon Viewpoint. Phuket has some beautiful beaches like Patong Beach, Kata Noi Beach, and Nai Harn Beach.
Being in Phuket allows you to end your island hopping journey on a high note as you can enjoy Thai cuisine, shop, party, and do lots more before you take a flight back home.
